Proteus OTS Handle Assembly

Challenges:
- Failing switches—preventing access to the pertinent functions available
- Switch tops falling off—leaving a large hole which prevents the user from actuating switches below
- Overlay failure due to normal use—leaving a hole in the surface
- Failing handle assembly—leaving large cracks in the back of the unit and inability to move overhead tube crane. Handle assembly no longer supports lateral and transverse movement of the overhead and it eventually breaks off.

Compax 40E Bucky Release Handle
P/N: 45434340, 2222056, 2240016
The Bucky Release Handle falters in two areas. The thumb switch will fail over time and the white plastic button will fall off which prevents the locks from releasing. The handle itself, with enough pressure, will break in half, causing a possible injury to the operator. The plastic used in this handle is a type of injection mold made out of two pieces, therefore, with enough pressure, the handle will break in half at its weakest point (the junction of the handle where it meets the base assembly).
